On Line Attend World Safety Day Event
Representatives from On Line Design recently attended the Total Lindsey Oil Refinery “World Safety Day” event.
World Safety Day is an annual event celebrated by the ILO (International Labour Organisation) which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, and centres around raising awareness of occupational health and safety within the workplace.
The event included exhibits by various on-site contractors showing the work that they carry out on the TLOR site, and this provided an opportunity for everyone to see and learn more about the work that they and other contractors are doing.
Total also used the event to present awards to both individuals and companies for their contributions towards HSE performance throughout the year.
This year On Line Design achieved 8 consecutive years without a TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) and received 1 of 3 TRIR awards for the achievement this year, whilst the remaining awards went to Delta and TLOR’s ‘C’ Shift.
In achieving this award On Line Design and TLOR contributed £500 each to a charity nominated by On Line Designs workers on site; this year the chosen charity being St. Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby.
Duncan Russell, Engineering Director at On Line Design said, “The fact that only 1 other contractor organisation has attained 8 years TRIR free indicates what an achievement it is, and it is something that OLDE and our people based on TLOR should be justifiably proud of.”
